Best Author Resources

Hello all!

As a self-published author, finding the right places to promote your book can be a bit of a hassle. The author spends a majority of their time doing research to find the best ways to promote and advertise their work.

In this post, I will discuss the different author resources that I have found through research who require little to nothing in expenses to promote, advertise, and/or receive reviews for your books!

1 The Kindle Book Review

At The Kindle Book Review, authors have so much information and more at their fingertips. This site provides authors with ways to receive reviews at no charge, ways to find your audience, and places to promote your books! Using this platform is also a great choice because they have over 63k Twitter followers and over 33,500 subscribers!

In the author resources tab, you will find a plethora of information dealing with eBooks, proper formatting techniques, reaching new readers, and successfully utilizing Twitter.

The Kindle Book Review has it all with links to promote your books for free, down to finding professional eBook formatting services!

They also offer paid author services which includes author consultation, eBook covers, formatting, page analysis, and page repairs.

2. Lovely Books

Lovely Books has over 9,000 Facebook followers and more than 12,000 Twitter followers. This website has high traffic and offers different promotional tools for authors, ranging in price from free to $135.

Promoting a KDP freebie is free, and includes advertising your book through e-mail as well as social media, but you must send in your request up to five days prior to your free book promotion.

Other free tools they use include is their Free Press Package, Blog Tours, and their Open Blog. To ensure any features, you can pay either $4 for a guaranteed freebie promotion through email and social media or $10+ for an Instagram feature.

There are other promotional features that this platform provides that vary in price and are well worth it to get your work in front of your audience!

3. The Indie Bookshelf

The Indie Bookshelf is a great platform to use to receive reviews for your book. While this is a great website to use to find more readers, it isn’t a guarantee that the staff will read your book, as is the case with any place you submit your book.

However, if someone on their staff accepts your work, they will contact you immediately.

Te Indie Bookshelf is a collaborative blog which seeks to help educate readers on everything Indie while also supporting the self-published author!

4. Digital Book Girl

You can find many services provided by Digital Book Girl that can be free, but you also have the option to pay.

For a free book promotion, you simply follow @digitalbookgirl on Twitter, then send them a message. This platform receives over 750,000 organic impressions each month through Twitter! They also cross-promote your book on Facebook, where their posts collect 3,000 to 6,500 impressions weekly.

Another free service that this platform provides is free direct marketing. This service has your book and author profile included in the Digital Book Girl’s newsletter.

Paid services that Digital Book Girl provides includes featured book listings, side menu advertising, book trailer ads, and more.

5. BMI books

One place that is one worth investing in is BMI books, and I say invest because they will promote your work for a price, ranging from $10 to $250.

A standard package is $10, which includes visibility on their platform for a year.

A featured package is $55 and includes visibility on their website for 1825 days as well as listings and email marketing.

The premium package is $250 and comes with a visibility of 3650 days as well as e-mail marketing, tweets, a Facebook page posting, and a LinkedIn group announcement.

Is there another website that you use to promote, advertise, or provides reviews for books? If there are any other great websites, please list them in the comments!
